This links-style course features tree-lined fairways and fast greens. The terrain is predominantly flat and easy to walk. However, elevation changes and a few hills will cause uneven lies. The signature hole is #4, a 133-yard, par 3, featuring a scenic view of the bay and hotel. According to locals, this is one of the oldest courses in the United States. This course was built near the bay. The club held the Ladies' U.S. Open in 1948, 1965, and again in 1975. This course was also the site of the 1997 USGA Women's Mid-Amateur Championship. "Golf Digest" rated it as the 10th "Best in State" for 1997-98.

Great links course. Can only get on if you're a guest of the Hilton casinos. Treated like a king. Wind can be a killer but not extremely difficult otherwise - greens are great.

Carper's Valley Golf Club
"local and enjoyable"
Although an older course it has improved with age and with the rainy season last year (2002) the greens are fuller. A range is available and I try to get the most of my short game with the putting green. The back nine brings you up next to the airport but the single engine planes are not loud and are enjoyable to watch landing as your partner tries to keep up your great shot.

This course is probably one of the nicest ones I've ever played! - I MEAN IT!!! The greens were very well kept, the clubhouse was delightful, and my wife loved your fairways! I played here, once,-back in the 60's, but it was quite different then. (To be honest it looks allot smaller, and I don't remember there being any Homes so near the course?) We WILL be back, this summer!

I played Pine Hill which is one mile away and I actually thought Pine Hill was better. It's all about money and power at Pine Valley which allows them to get the #1 rating every year

Plum Hollow Country Club
"Plum a plum"
If you like a rollicking round of golf, Plum is the place for you. The par 3's each have a distinctive personality unto themselves, one apart from the other. They are like chapters in a delicious novel that unravels step by step in front of your very eyes. The par 4's all present daunting challenges for maintaining a par round, owing to clever fairway bunkering or something not seen in the approach that becomes clear only upon reaching the putting surface. The par 5's are spectacular, culminating in a finishing crescendo in holes 17 and 18. With any kind of match coming to a conclusion -- a five dollar nassau or a challenge match with the wife -- anything can happen on these last two holes...and usually does!!! The round is made complete by the singular service inside the locker room by the most respected club house attendant in the state of Michigan, Chewy.
