| Silvermine is a course that includes a short 9 and a long 18. The course is about to face construction. They are shifting greens and adding bunkers. A great place to play. |

| Was that 1st review a joke. Gary Field grew up down the street, working there as a young boy, he is now a honoary member at Silvermine. I was the head pro at Silvermine for 20 years. Members from neighboring courses Shorehaven and Oak Hills used to laugh when I told them that I worked there, they called it a cow pasture. I have the official measurements and contrary to what is says on the score card the yardage is less than 5,000 yards. I could hit 13 greens in under regulation.More of a chip and putt course. As for the owners being Philanthropists, let's just say that first reviewer must have been referring to a different golf course. |

Magnificent setting, Oct 01, 2004 |

| One of , if not the most, beautiful settings in New England. Perched on the highest point in the town, the views of Long Island Sound and Long Island are breathtaking. The course itself is in pristene condition with immaculate attention to details. Quiet, serene and remote, this course has all the qualities for a memorable afternoon. Water hazards are crystal clear, sand hazards are perfectly maintained, greens are of seaside bent/bermuda and well groomed. Tees are meticulously cared for and the rough is trying but not impossible. Managed and owned by a family of philanthropists, it is Heaven on Earth! Enjoy |
