Very tight fairways..., Jul 25, 2008

I play this course a lot. It is very narrow, and presents problems for players with a slice or hook. If the course has been well irrigated, it if fun to play, but sometimes the owners do not irrigate it enough, and the greens can get bad. Overall it's a fun course to play; especially for the short hitting senior golfer...the staff is very nice....

Narrow and tough - 4 par 4s on an Executive course? I go here to try and improve my my middle and short games but I can't score here! Not the best condition if its dry but workable.

I love to play this course. For a public course, it is kept in very great shape. The pin placements on the greens are put in tough spots to challenge you at every hole.

Mountain Valley Golf Course - Maple/Oak Course
"hidden gem"
Course was originally 18 but 9 new holes were added in the last few years. The three nines, oak, pine, and maple are all challenging with tight tree lined fairways with generous sized greens with a fair bit of undulation. Huge elevation changes on some holes offer great views of the surrounding PA countryside. Although not the longest course, although some holes are quite long it is easily the most difficult in the region due to the tightness and difficult putting greens. The greens are always in great condition so the difficulty I have with putting is assuredly not the course, It's all mine. Great value too, and a friendly and helpful staff makes these three nine hole courses a must when in the area.

I love this course, the greens are kept in good condition. They are very challenging but fun. The fairways are also kept very well. The only thing I would change is the prices and the way it is run. I recommend a membership to anyone!!!!
