This executive course isn't long, but it does require shot accuracy. The terrain is undulating, and water hazards come into play on four holes. Most holes feature a scattering of trees that can alter your shots, and there are several sand bunkers on the course. The large greens vary in undulation, but putt true.

Didn't Play/ But I Got Fitted, Jul 31, 2008
reviewer: Homer from Webberville, MI
I'm a 13 handicapper and have played several years. I went to Indian Hills in Okemos and got a club fitting. Wow! What a thorough job! This guy spent 2 hours with me. I hit short irons, long irons, hybrids, fairway woods and drivers off the mat, while the computer thingamajig measured different aspects of my swing, speed and ball flight. The fitter thoroughly interrogated me on all aspects of my game, and explained all the measurements he was taking. I have recommendations for each club in the bag, including shaft length/weight/flex, offset, center of gravity, bounce, sole width loft, and launch angles. I paid $50 for the fitting, and this $50 will go towards any custom made clubs I buy, if I so choose. However, there was no major pressure to buy the custom clubs. I got way more than $50 service here. This was the most thorough fitting I've ever seen. The fitter even discussed the opponents I played with and the types of clubs I may want based on strategies of my matches. I've checked out a custom driver and 4 wood to try at no obligation, and the fitter is making me a custom 7 iron to the suggested specs to try. He also provided me with several name brand clubs that could be made with the specs he suggested.

Interesting and challenging, Nov 03, 2006
reviewer: Ron Edwards from Lansing, MI
Well kept with some challenging holes. Best 9 hole course I every played. I've been playing this course since 1992 (league and casual play). I would recommend this course to anyone.

A good little course, Sep 22, 2004
reviewer: N. Nye from Okemos
I play Indian Hills about 20-25 times every year. Indian Hills is a good little course tucked into the hustle and bustle of the Lansing metro area. Although it is a short par 33, it is far from easy, with ample bunkers, water hazards and trees. The fairways and greens are ususally in tip-top shape. The only knocks I have on the place is the mosquitos are thick, especially from late May-July. Also, during heavy rain periods, such as May 2004, the Red Cedar River overflows its banks and makes the course unplayable. Call ahead during after heavy rains to check playability. Wear long pants and/or a long sleeved t-shirt whenever possible to combat mosquitos.
