Dunegrass Golf Club & Resort - Old Orchard Beach Course

200 Wild Dunes Way
Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064
Phone: (207)934-4513Fax: (207)934-3547

This upscale facility expanded to twenty-seven holes in 1998, giving it an eighteen hole layout, named the Dunegrass Course, and a nine hole course, named Old Orchard Beach. The Dunegrass Course is a Carolina-style design with many interesting features. The greens are average-sized for an upscale facility and are predominantly undulating, with a few that are multi-tiered. The fairways offer a mix of mostly flat, plains-style designs. Some of the par 4's and par 5's offer rolling hills and dunes. The par 3's feature island greens. Advanced tee times are reserved up to seven days on Dunegrass, however, no advanced tee times are reserved on the Old Orchard Beach Course. The Orchard Beach Course has several trees incorporated into its design. Water and sand bunkers also add to this challenging course. The greens are sloped and the fairways are narrow. The 5,479-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 71.5 and a slope of 127.

The old course is no more?, Jun 26, 2006
reviewer: Dave Rotthoff from North Fort Myers, FL
The word is that the old course is no more. Problems with road access to the residential development have , rumor has it, resulted in part of the old course being incorporated in to the new Dunegrass course and some holes on the new course being taken over for road building. There is also rumor thaat some of the old course has been converted in to an executive course. Too bad, as the old course was really enjoyable to play. Problem is that a few years ago price of annual membership went up to more than it was worth.

The Old Course is gone, Feb 26, 2006
reviewer: Dave Rotthoff from N. Fort Myers, FL and Old Orchard Beach, ME
The Dunegrass operation has closed the old 9 hole course, which was one half of the original Old Orchard Beach Country Club. Part of the old course has been used to alter the arrangement of the new [18 hole] course. The rest of the land is being developed for housing. Unfortunately the owner decided to do away with this very nice course, which means that the tourist community of Old Orchard Beach now has golf only for the financially well-heeled. Now that the old course is gone, I absolutely will not play the Dunegrass course.
