This course was built through a natural, wooded terrain with rolling hills. The fairways are long and narrow, and require straight tee shots. Water hazards come into play on five to seven holes, and strategically placed sand bunkers are also critical in the course's design. The signature hole is #12, a 182-yard, par 3, which actually was the inspiration for the course's name, Spilt Rock. A large rock, which rested in what is now the hole's fairway, sprouted a tree that grew up through the middle of the rock. The hole is carved into the side of a hill, has sand bunkers in front of the green, and a stream that diagonals the side of the green.

Of all the courses I play in the Central Ohio area I look forward to this course the most. The friendleist group of folks I have met anywhere. A great course in great condition. More challenging than it first appears. If it could be longer it would be a 5 star - for the blue tees players, it is perfect.

This is a very nice layout and an enjoyable experience for the price. For a low cost course this is very nice and chalenging.Kept in very nice shape.

Danville Country Club
"Delicious"
I found this course and county club to be quite exciting. The main reason for this was because of one stand out individual. This man was Brad Irle, he introduced me to the realm that is Danville Country Club. Never before have I ever fathomed in any of my wildest, most exotic dreams to see such a plethora of food placed before me. After an enivorating and exciting round Brad and I stopped into the 19th whole to wet our whistles with a tasty tripple Gin and Tonic. I thank you Danville for all the memories I have, and the future visits that I look forward to.

Clayton Park Golf Course
"Local Hidden Gem"
This is a fine local course for working on your irons. Even as a (60 year old) senior, I seldom use more than a 5 wood here. No sand, and water barely comes into play on one hole. Drastic elevation changes on the par 3 second and third holes. Course is wide open and wind can sometimes be a factor. Great for sharpening your skills before taking on regulation courses or for a pleasant 2 to 3 hours outdoors.
