An Under-Appreciated Gem, Apr 13, 2004

Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed this course in 1989 and has had a hand in several improvements including a brand new practice facility which will open in August, 2004. Built on some of the best topography in Southern Cook County, (read hilly) Crystal Tree will hold its own with any fine golf course in Chicagoland. Not the longest course but a suble one with undulating greens requiring precise approaches (no run-ups). Why there is not a waiting list in join this club is beyond me.

The new name for La Vista Golf Course in Wichita Falls, Texas is HAWK RIDGE GOLF COURSE. This course has undergone extensive improvements the last year and one half. The improvements made have made this into one of the best courses in this area. While I rated it as 3 stars, it could very well be on its way to being rated much higher.
