| If You Like Wind Then This Is Your Course
The Greens Are Fast The Fairways Are Narrow And The Wildlife Can Be Seen On This Course. I Enjoyed The View Of The Canyon And I am Sure My Golf Ball Did Too, That's What Happens When You Slice It On Hole # 3 And 4. But A Very Nice Golf Course Overall, A Must See. |

Excellent Okanogan Valley Course, Aug 24, 2004

| I travel up to Oroville a couple times a year and really enjoy this course. There's only nine holes, but with seperate tee boxes have the back nine playing very different from the front nine (so be sure to go around twice and if the winds blowing just right go for the green on the par 4 12th).
Many of the fairways are wide and forgiving, but some of the holes border a canyon that is anything but forgiving (which is where the risk comes in to play on the 12th hole).
During the week a round of golf here can go so fast that you'll be tempted to play a third nine (using your favorite tee boxes from the previous 18) --- you can play 27 holes here on most days in the time it takes to play 18 on most courses across the border in Canada.
So save some money and time (have you tried crossing the border lately) and enjoy what this course has to offer if you're in the area. |

| Found this course while on vacation at Lake Osoyoos, in Oroville ,WA. The only possible drawback is the 9 hole set-up rather than a full 18, but this probably adds to the great effect of the course. Beautifully cut into a hillside of rock in a canyon just outside of town. Well maintained, inexpensive and managed with integrity you would expect from a locally owned facility. The course at first seems simple, but as you play you realize the difficulty of the lay-out and the wind factor coming up the canyon creates some real challenging club selection.
I forgot to mention the great views and laided back quality provided by this out-of-the-way gem. |
