This course's front nine has wide-open fairways and was built on rolling terrain. In contrast to the front nine, there are many dramatic elevation changes and narrower fairways on the back nine. Three lakes come into play on holes #8, 14, and 16. The old clubhouse was constructed from salvaged material that was left over from the demolition of Millionaires Row. This course has been rated as one of the ten "Don't Miss" golf courses by the "Crane Cleveland Business Journal."

I am 17 and have golfed in their junior league and it was very well run. I sometimes felt a little rushed but not very much. My favorite holes are the second and the ninth. The second is great because of the amazing tree line and straight fairway. The ninth is fun because of its challenging hill. The place is well maintained and the driving range is easy and cheap! I usually don't play the back nine but when I do it is fantastic because of the views and tough fairways. The clubhouse is well run but could be a little bigger, but the amazing cooking makes up for it.

I JUST PLAYED PCC ON SATURDAY JUNE 26, 2004 AND THE GROUNDS CREW ARE DOING A GREAT JOB KEEPING THE COURSE IN GREAT SHAPE. AT 6 AM THEY HAD A FULL CREW OUT FILLING IN DIVIOTS, CUTTING GRASS, PICKING UP TRASH. EVERY HOLE WAS LANDSCAPED EXCEPTIONALLY WELL ON THE PAR 3'S. ONE OF THE BEST IN NORTHEAST OHIO. ONLY 24.50 TO PLAY 18 WALKING. IT GETS HILLY BUT SHOULDNT BE A PROBLEM TO ANYBODY THATS IN GOOD SHAPE. I DID IT AND THE ONLY SHAPE IM IN IS ROUND.

I am 14 and have been golfing for 8 years now and all my experiences at this course have been enjoyable. I am currently in a juinors league there that is very well run and organized. The course itself is kept in excellent condition and is pretty challenging.

Just an nice play to play golf !!, Feb 18, 2004 |

When you start to play Painesville Country Club you are reminded of how old courses used to be designed and how Arnie and his cronies use to enjoy just being here. The front nine is somewhat open with a tree or bush here and there to keep you in the game. This first hole is a 5 par that you need to hit the ball straight to setup your next shot to the top of hill and just a nice 9-iron to the green. The back nine takes you into a different world of golf which calls for accuracy and "golf course management", trees line each hole and force you to think about your next shot. Famous for it's 11 hole, a nice 3 par that is over 200 yards that are all downhill and lined with trees on both sides. When you finally get out of the woods, you have the last two holes (5 pars) to play. The course is in beautiful shape and the greens are closed to being the "truest" one can putt on. Only thing that is missing on the course is a few more sand traps to make it a complete adventure. Thanks to the Management and Groundcrew for making this a great place to play golf on a sunny day.
