Inverness Golf Course

This course features extremely narrow fairways. The terrain varies between rolling and hilly, so expect uneven lies. The well-manicured greens are small, undulating, and easy to three putt. Water hazards (several creeks and lakes) come into play on a number of holes. Larry Packard redesigned this course in 1967. This course in closed during the month of February.

Trickier than you think, Aug 02, 2004
reviewer: Greg Ellis (caddie) from Palatine, IL
This is a Larry Packard designed course located on the hilly landscape of Inverness, IL. Some players are fooled into thinking that since Inverness is a short course that it will therefore be an easy course. However, the tough greens and hilly landscape make up for the lack of distance. Caddies can and will read the greens for you if you ask. When playing the course you get into the groove of the 400 yard par 4 which pepper the front nine. However, when playing the back nine, the course plays a lot longer and the elevated greens get steeper. The toughest holes are 10, 12, and 15 in my opinion.

" If your caddie coaches you on the tee, 'Hit it down the left side with a little draw,' ignore him. All you do on the tee is try not to hit the caddie. -Jim Murray "
