This course was built on gently-rolling terrain and features two distinct styles. The front nine was built on farmland and is characterized by wide fairways and open play. The back nine plays through undisturbed swampland, offering a tighter, links-style feel. The most demanding hole is #6, a 200-yard, par 3, featuring water from the tee to the well-bunkered three-quarter island green.

Best greens in Ohio, Aug 30, 2004

I played Cumberland Trail Golf Course In Pataskala, Ohio last week and was totally impressed with the putting greens and the overall maintenance level of the golf course. The putting greens were rolling at 11.5 and were the smoothest greens I have ever played. For the price I will be back many times this year and next.

"Sweet Little Nine-Holer!"
I have enjoyed this course for over 10 years. It seems to be a well-kept secret, however. The owner of the course and his wife are the finest folks you will ever meet. Although the course is short, it is demanding. You must place your shots very well in order to shoot a good round. Stop by and say hello to the nice folks that own and run the course.

Del Monte Golf Course
"Del Monte -- Fun and touch -- old school"
Great course, classic layout, old style, just a wonderful golf experience. I've played Old Del Monte many times. It is a slightly shorter and yet just as fun older brother to several of the other Monterey/Carmel area courses. Oldest golf course west of the Mississippi River, it is close to the Monterey airport, close to hotels, and provides a wonderful, old-feel idea of what it was like to play on courses before big land movers shapped and sculpted the ground. It is fun to play, fun to hang around at the pro-shop/coffee shop. Just a really neat golfing experience.
