This club has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combination. It is a typical New England style course that was built on rolling hills. The greens are undulating and vary in size. The fairways are unique because they are wide open for a few holes, then become narrow during the middle holes, and then go back to wide open.

"Great Greens"
Great greens and thats just the start. From tee to green this course was in super shape. You must remember this is the dead of winter and the course was 5 star. The staff was very nice and told us to have a great time, most places just take your money and show you were the carts are. This is also a great course to walk.

"Classic Donald Ross"
This course is short in yardage (6200), but plays much longer. One reason is that there are only 2 par 5's on a par 70 track. The par 3's are classic Ross. 3 of the 4 can play over 190 yards to postage stamp greens. There are a lot of down and up style par 4's, but there is also variety. Holes 10,11 and 18 are good examples of tough, well thought out par 4's that demand accuracy and thought. A four is an excellent score on all of these holes. The course is generally in excellent condition and has undergone some minor renovations. You will notice that the greens are exceptionally small, even for a Ross course. Greens are properly protected with bunkers and have just the right amount of undulation. One designer has stated that these are the smallest greens he has ever seen on a Ross course (which may be its claim of distinction among the many Ross courses). There is a premium on iron play and short game. Greens are quick, but not penal. Everyone thinks they can bring this course to its knees, but it usually is the other way around. The course can frustrate you if you expect too much too easily. This is what makes it such a wonderful place to experience the brilliance of Donald Ross. Cold Springs Golf & Country Club

I recently went and played the small country club in eastern California, at the end of the summer. The Pro Keith Rader was extremely kind helping me find the place. The staff appeared to be a little grungy when I got there Larry a staff employee, while not the best looking gentleman was one of the nicest people there. The assistant a tall, upbeat young man always smileing had a few good pointers for my golf game. Though I don't remember his name I am sure we will see him further his golf career, he really seemed to know his stuff. Thanks to Cold Springs, and what an enjoyable day

Plymouth Country Club

Plymouth Country Club is a difficult test of golf. It challengers a player's ability to make shots and keep the ball in the fairway. Heavily wooded areas on many holes can cause big numbers if you wander too far from the fairway. The front nine is where a player should try to get through around even par and then make some birdies on the back. The back nine consists of a number of risk reward holes and two very difficult holes in a row (15 and 16). Finish strong on the two par 5's (17 and 18) and you could have yourself a fine round of golf.
