This facility, which was named to "GOLF Magazine's" 1998 list of "Gold Medal Resorts," features a Scottish links-style course. The course is located alongside the ocean, and has many great views of the coastline. This course was officially certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, the first in the state and only one of twenty-one nationwide to receive such an honor. The co-designers are Tom Watson and Sandy Tatum in connection with Robert Trent Jones, Jr. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 4th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996, and "GOLF Magazine" rated Spanish Bay 45th best under the 1998 category of "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." "Golf Digest" also rated it as the 12th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 10th best for 1997-98. Bent Creek Country Club
"Exquisite Conditioning"
I was a member at Bent Creek for ten years until moving to South Carolina. Day in and day out, compared with top caliber courses, this is probably the best conditioned course in the Mid-Atlantic area. Tees, fairways, and greens are bent grass, as are the practice tees and even one of the two practice ranges. The course is more difficult than its slope and course rating indicate, with very difficult holes at the start, especially from the back tees. It is a great course for average players from the regular men's tees, and a fantastic test for better players from the back. An under-par score from the back tees is exceptional.

A great course with old world charm with a hint of Caddy Shack's great old golf course "Bushwood." You will be treated well and feel like you are on the Caddy Shack set. Not because the people, but because you would swear you where actually there. It really looks like it!! Here's to the Village of Glencoe for doing it right. Well done.

I was very lucky to be able to play this private track. I would highly recommend this course if you are ever able to get the invite. The clubhouse is what you would expect at a private gated community, large and splendid. But the true beauty is the 18 holes of pure bliss. The course slips and slides through some amazing terrain and it is a shot makers course. You can enjoy this course at any handicap because of the many tee options but if you are feeling bold, take a few steps back and take on the whole course. This course offers alot to the average golfer but like I said, If you get the chance to play it don't pass it up.This is a top 3 course on the grand strand but because it is private not many people get the honor of playing this amazing golf course.
