Located just outside Fort Lauderdale is Raintree Golf Resort. This resort boasts an 18-hole par 72 championship course measuring 6,456 yards from the back tees.The course is well manicured and enjoyable for all skill levels. The unique design has six par 3's, six par 4's and six par 5's. The fairways are tight, and water hazards come into play on seventeen holes, so shot accuracy is at a premium. The greens are elevated and medium-sized.The signature hole is #18, a 385-yard, par 4, requiring an accurate approach over a large lake to a small green.Practice facilities include putting greens, a sand trap, and a lighted "aqua range".

Another one bites the dust!, Mar 05, 2010

This was my beautiful home course for many years. I had great times playing there and met a lot of nice people. They were all like family. Ron Baker the golf pro, Frankie the starter (RIP)the girls at the restaurant, Tuesday night Industrial League. I missed those times..... Then one day, the greedy developers destroyed the course to build one more shopping center but.. justice prevailed and the banks stopped issuing construction loans. Now the property is for sale. Please, someone outhere with big bucks, BRING RAINTREE GOLF COURSE BACK!!! This place would become a gold mine and your return would be very lucrative.

This place has the fastest greens I have yet to play on. Nice elevation changes. I would not pay $45 again to play there.

Hilltop Country Club
"Neatest course in Texas"
I went and played a round of golf at the Hilltop Country Club last week for the first time. It was an expereince,the course is set up real cool. I was a high school golfer who would have loved to get out of school and walk to go play golf rather than riding 30 minutes on a bus to and from practice everyday. The course is on the grounds of Troup ISD.And after I got finished playing golf I walked to the 19th and had a cold budlight.The bar has what ever you want,and the ladies were so nice.
