This course features hilly fairways and undulating greens. The signature hole is #9, a 192-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot past a pond on the left side of the fairway to a well-bunkered green. The back nine is much longer than the front nine. Water hazards (six ponds) come into play on four holes, plus numerous sand bunkers protect both the fairways and greens.

Course is OK staff is another story, Jun 23, 2009

This course is ok. Greens are of average speed. You can learn to play all types of shots and it's generally fun to play. Two things: it's over priced and the guys behind the counter are as rude as can be if you are not in their crowd. So get treated poorly with a bad attitude from the staff and then pay well over $40 for a round at a mid level Rochester course and tell me what you think. These guys should be ashamed of themselves for treating people so poorly. You can pay less at a lot of comporable courses and the people are mostly happy to have you: Farview, Victor Hills, Deerfield, Twin Hills, Parkview Fairways. For the price at the Pines you can even go the Brookwoods or Mill Creek. The Mill Creek people are great.

all around great course, May 12, 2006

For the average hacker this course provides a real challenge. Some longish par fives and longer par threes are tough for short hitters. But the course is fair and the back nine is awesome. Most holes you cannot see other holes, which makes for a very nice experience in my opinion. The course is always well maintained and the electric carts are clean and efficient. Very friendly staff is a bonus.
