Not A Pleasant Experience, Apr 16, 2005

This golf course was absolutely horrible. There are weeds on the edges and dry, thorny grass. BE AWARE OF STICKERS IN YOUR FEET!! Plus our golf cart was barely putting a long. I think I could putt better than the cart.

Well kept course, the greens are TERRIFIC. It's an easy course, so you can relax, have fun, and drive the green on the par 4's. No pressure. Pro shop staff were very professional, the lovely and charming bartender kept us coming back for more. BABABOOEY to you all!!!!!!!!!!!!

Play this course alot and its pretty fun. Its nothing special but provides some challenges on par 3's. The greens are HORRIBLE!!!! Thats what makes this course average, otherwise I'd give it a 3 or 4. The greens are slow, very slow and sometimes completely ridiculous. The 4th hole on the front nine is extremely hard and expect to be happy with a three put on that 190 yard par 3.

Marshallia Ranch Golf Course
"Marshallia Rocks"
This is one tough but, neat course. Carved out of the hills surrounding Vandenberg AFB, the layout is challenging and scenic. Play in the fall and winter for the best weather, because spring and summer can be very cool and windy. Each hole rewards a decent shot, but plucks out your heart if your shot runs errant. Ice plant gives a new meaning to the word, rough. Here's a putting tip, 90% of the putts break toward the high hills to the south, though you will swear it can't be. The course is usually in terrific condition and the Clubhouse very accomodating. Green fees, equipment and food are more than reasonable when compared to nearby courses. This is one gem all golfers must experience.

Glen Oak Country Club
"Bring your control game"
Accuracy off the tee is more important than length as the fairways are lined with colorful trees. The small greens are surrounded by well-placed bunkers and then the real fun begins. The greens are fast, unless you have a downhill putt and then they are super-fast. Since the greens are so true, there are plenty of opportunities for one-putts, but also three-putts due to speed and breaks. Relaxed social atmosphere of club makes for a fun day. Pros, lead by Danny Mulhearn, are terrific golfers and teachers.

"Good golf for the money"
This is a cheap golf course that isn't too challenging. Perfect for the new golfer. This course will really make you feel better about your game, especially when you make a nice drive on a par 4 and your on the green.

Antelope Valley Country Club
"Visitor to Anetlope Valley CC"
Antelope Valley CC golf course is a fun and challenging experience. Wind makes the course play tough in the afternoon. It is realitively flat and provides the abilility to walk with little difficulty. Many challenging holes, several with water, and views of the local desert and Joshua Trees are great. The amenities of the club are first rate. New clubhouse, staff that is freindly and attentive, and quality food and beverages all help to make a great golfing experience.
