This extremely scenic course was designed amidst 250 acres of woods. The rolling hills and numerous oak trees in play will challenge the most experienced golfer. Even though the fairways are lined with trees, the landing areas are quite generous. In addition, the greens are large and undulating, so three putts are fairly common. Water hazards come into play at least four times, and the last four holes are so difficult they earned the nickname "Demon's Run."

Scenic and challenging, Jul 07, 2005

I've played a number of courses in the area and this is by far my favorite. The holes vary in elevation and distance which make for an interesting varity of holes. I enjoyed it except for the fact that you lose a lot of balls. Also, if playing 18 I would suggest a cart because the holes go down a hill, then back up it. Also, the walk from one green to the next tee-box can be daunting.

Timberline golf course will challenge every golfer regardless of your handicap. You will hit every club in your bag. If your ever in eastern Iowa you must play this course. It is affordable and you will enjoy it. When your running low on golf balls just wait until you hit Demons run. Good Luck!
