this course allows the natural beauty of the wild and wonderful to shine through, while offering valid challenges to any golfer. You will however divert attentions to golf, and truly enjoy the beauty of the valley that abounds. This course really shows the peaceful and beautiful valley/mountain scenes of my homestate. I do recommend an afternoon tee off, to truly capture the sunsets on every fairway and green, and the finish with friends and family on 18... truly awesome!

great shape, Oct 01, 2007

A wonderful mountain course. In great condition, especially considered the extremely dry season. Fair and the risk/reward holes are among the best. It is a fair price and worth our 4 hour drive to and from to play. Hospitality is way above average as well as the snack bar. Do not miss this one.

Suprisingly challenging course!, Oct 30, 2005
reviewer: Don French from Northern Virginia
Nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by the scenic Appalacian Mountains, you will find a little gem of a course you never would have expected. The terrrain is as challenging as it is beautiful. #10 is an amazingly long hole that you deserve a "high five" for if you come anywhere near the green on your 3rd shot. Other holes challenge your distance judgement due to the unique and sometimes severe inclines and dips. Overall, you will enjoy every aspect of the course and the price is right. The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious. Also, their supply of excellent golf equipment is unchallenged in the area. Finally, expect to see some amazing wildlife including deer, pheasant, turkeys and the occasional emu.

Above "par" for most golf courses in the area. Few blind holes. Nice greens. Fun to play. Don't miss it.

Worth the drive, Apr 04, 2004
reviewer: Dan_P from Jumping Branch WV
Known to some locals as "Friendly Fountain" because of the staff's desire to do everthing they can do make your trip enjoyable. Situated just a few miles off of RT 460, this course offers a great countryside setting with fantastic views from the mountains. This course always seems to be in the best playable shape of any other courses in the area. Would give a five star rating if not for a couple of sharp, short doglegs on the front nine and a couple of severly sloped greens on the back. Overall, it's a great layout which is very well maintained by a very friendly staff.
