Walnut Lane Golf Club800 Walnut Ln Philadelphia, PA 19128 Phone: (215)482-3370Fax: (215)482-9379
This extremely hilly course does not have water hazards, however, it does have a few small sand bunkers incorporated into its design. The narrow fairways are lined with trees, and the small greens are medium speed.

| Over the course of a year, this course gets a lot of play and it shows. It seems that many of the players aren't interested in fixing ball marks, replacing divots, etc. The course is very short (par 62; there are 10 par 3's and 8 par 4's) and long hitters won't have much use for their driver. But it's challenging and can result in more than a few lost balls. Most of the course is adjacent to heavy woods. Probably not a bad place to play your first round once you've progressed past chip and putts. But play can be painfully slow especially on the weekends (except maybe during football season when the Eagles are playing). Still, there are a couple of very nice holes (3, 10, and 15 come to mind), and a few awful holes (11, 16 and 17). If this course were better maintained I think it would merit 3 stars because the layout is interesting. |

It's getting Better, Apr 16, 2004

| The course still suffers from years of poor maintenance but is getting better. The first 7 hole are very easy but the remaining 11 are as difficult as the frist 7 are easy. The fairways and greens still need some work but they are at least green.
The fairways are narrow and keep things interesting. Watch out for very slow play as many beginners use this as a test of sorts and this really slows the play as they do not know the meaning of play through. |
