This mountain course was cut out of the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and is loaded with many scenic views. The fairways are wide open on the front nine and narrow on the back nine. The greens are slightly sloped and some of them are multi-tiered. The signature hole is #12, a 194-yard, par 3, because it features a 200-foot drop from off the mountain bluff tee box. Ellis Maples redesigned the course in 1974, followed by Bob Cupp in 1993.

This is a must play if you are on vacation in pigeon forge/gatlinburg. lots of topo. signature hole has a par 3 with 300ft drop tee to green. very fun course to play and is in great shape. 6200 yds from the back but you must hit it straight. not many flat lies. you hit uphill/downhill, dogleg right and left all day. hit it staight and score. hit it crooked and fight the hills and woods. pro shop worked us in at the last minute

A challenging course that offers many different opportunities for the novice as well as the advanced golfer. Each hole has a different shot selection to keep you on your toes. Keeping in the fairway, unlike some courses will make your second shot a breeze. For the money you will be hard pressed to get a better bang for your buck. A must play course if your in the Pigeon Forge area.AAA+++

Marshall Canyon Golf Club
"Trickier than you think and don't EVER walk."
Marshall Canyon is a fun course with some quirky holes but for the most part it is pretty fair. The greens are trickier than you think and there are some hole placements that totally suck if you get above the hole. It is a hilly course that you don't want to walk unless you are in very good walking shape. All in all, it is a good course with a decent price.

I think this is a great course for beginners. Its inexpensive and forgiving in a lot of areas. No water hazards mean you won't lose a lot of balls. All and all a good course to practice on or to enjoy with a friend.
