This course provides wide-open fairways and is built on sixty-three acres. The Zumbro River flows alongside the north part of the course. The greens are larger than average and have moderate undulation. There are an adequate number of sand bunkers and one pond and a marsh come into play on three holes. The most difficult hole is #2, a 516-yard, par 5, which calls for a straightaway tee shot over the swamp.

Greens were better than most, Sep 05, 2011

Much better greens than the public courses we usually play in Rochester. The layout is playable and even for the first timer (as 2 of the foursome were),the picture at each tee box answers all questions about distances and hazards. We will be back, especially when we only paid $18 for the round! Thanks for an enjoyable day today.

"What a golf course should be."
I have played this private course 5-6 times since 1992 and have enjoyed it every time. Recently I played as a guest in a small tournament and the course was in excellent condition. There are 8 other courses in this retirement community, several owned and managed by large course management groups, but they are not in the same class as this one as far as quality is concerned. There are few if any divots on the greens, all players seem to be very conscious of divot repair on the entire course, including the rough, facilities are clean and fresh, clubhouse is pleasant and modern and the staff is great. I have just joined and am thrilled to death with a life-time membership to look forward to!

"Good Starter Course"
For an inexpensive, well maintained course to play while you are learning the basics of golf, this course is the one to play on. No par 5's. The course has good water, and easy par 3's that are helpful when you feel the pressure of the group behind you when your beginning. For the price, the location in Fountain Valley's Mile Square Park is beautiful, and I've never felt that a person starting off in the sport would feel embarrassed to make a mistake at this course.
