This hilly course features many trees that can alter your shots. The greens are average-sized and heavily bunkered. The fairways are average width and bordered by a thick cut of rough. In addition, numerous sand bunkers protect both the fairways and greens. Ferdinand Garbin redesigned the course in 1986.

| I have been a guest at Shannopin over 10 times. The course is Western Pennsylvania hilly, with a few holes that are not great due to the hills-But that is only a small part of the story. The course is exceptionally manicured, with challenging fast greens, and tough bunkers. Two of the Par 3's are very tough, and the same goes for two of the Par 5's. I have seen hawks, fox pups, deer, and other wildlife there, which makes for an enjoyable experience. The members are friendly and enjoyable to be around. The food is quite good for a country club. If you get a chance to play take it. |
