This course was built atop three plateaus and features beautiful mountain and river vistas. The fairways are open because they are lined by young trees, and the large greens can be fast depending on the seasonal weather conditions. The terrain is hilly and carts are recommended, but not mandatory. There are no water hazards on the course, but there are several grass bunkers that can affect your shots.

The Plains course has been improved considerably over the course of the past five years. The addition of several longer tee boxes and sand traps continue to add more challenge to a pretty forgiving course. Terrain is hilly, offering some challenges on holes 2 and 5. Greens have seen probably the most improvement on the course, providing enough variety to keep things interesting. One of the earliest courses to open in Montana, this is definately a place you will want to play.

"Enjoyable Round"
It is an average length course, but enjoyable. The fescue around the bunkers gives the course a nice look. There are some intersting holes such as one with a 2 tiered green right in front to make for a tough second shot from only around 60 yards. Some water but overall its fun and if you have the chance to play there do so.

For a fast round of 9-holes this course is very enjoyable, and actually quite challenging. The greens are all in good condition throught the year, and so are the fairways. Par 3's range from 90-yards to 205-yards, and the par 4s are long enough where you can hit driver and/or 3-wood. Wonderful practice putting green surrounding water and driving range is also nice. For the price and convenience of walking on without a long wait, it's a winner in my book.

Stevens Park Golf Course
"Classic Muny"
Stevens is only a few minutes from downtown. It's in a beautiful area and has some scenic views of Dallas. It's a classic muny and a good course to walk. There are many challenging holes and there are some very easy holes. Number 2 is a very short par 4 and is reachable from all of the tees. Number 12 is a short par 5 dog leg that is reachable in 2 but there are many well placed trees and an elevated green with a mean slope and you'll be happy if you get your 5. There are a few holes where you can hit your drive as far as you can but most take some strategy off the tee. On 17 you can hit 220 yards straight away or 140 yards to the right side of the fairway and both will leave an open short iron shot to the green... if you avoid two beautiful oaks and a wide creek on that tee shot. The par 3's are gorgeous and the two on the back are included in the 3 hardest on the back nine handicap chart. Stevens Park is a favorite, great taquitos in the snack bar too.
