This is a very hilly course, so you can expect some uneven lies. The hardest hole on the course is a 593-yard, par 5. The fast greens are slightly undulating, and the fairways are tree lined. The only water coming into play is just off the tee box on the first hole. This club is open for public play during the weekdays, but the weekends are strictly reserved for club members and their guests.

Good Challenge for Beginners, Jun 20, 2004

Hole 1 is a medium range straight shot and its the only one with a water trap right there in front of the tee. Hole two is straight uphill and fun to shoot. Being a beginner myself, I would recommend it to other beginners if they are looking for a challenge. Oh by the way, the food inside is great and for a good price.

Allegheny Country Club
"Love It!"
Allegheny offers a very private, and enjoyable experience. The course is rarely busy, and offers a real challenge with the short stick. Many of the holes are a bit short, but if you can't putt, you will not score well. The ground are kept in immaculate condition, and the scenery, especially on the back nine, is breathtaking.

Cabin Brook Golf Course
"Canbin Brook is a fair golf course"
I have playd Cabin Brook many times growing up in the central Kentucky region. The fairways are wide enough for most beginners and the terrain only comes into play on a couple of holes. With the rolling hills, it is a good place to learn how to adjust your shots in your stance. The price, sometimes, can be a bit much but, it is worth it for the casual duffer.
