This course's tree-lined fairways are open in some areas and narrow in others. The small greens are fast and water hazards come into play on six holes. The signature hole is #18, a 389-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg right fairway that is well bunkered.

Totally fell off the state budget radar, Sep 29, 2009
reviewer: Joe from Hudson NY
Played the track to much of my dissapointment. No grass was mowed, greens were terrible, maintenance equipment was strewn everywhere on the course, pro shop was totally barren, and the greens fee was well over $40 w/cart. It is a total shame what has happened to this course, because the original architecture has great R.T. Jones features like chutes and water holes. It needs to be privatized asap, it cannot survive like this.

Very good condition for a public course, Nov 07, 2004
reviewer: Don from Yardley PA
Played 9 holes here and liked it a lot. the fairways are wide open on the front 9, water comes into play on 2 of the front 9. Greens are generous and soft. Very nice course.

Getting Better, Nov 05, 2004
reviewer: Jim from Mahopac, NY
I played Baird about 20 times this summer. The course has held up real well. Understand that the new greenskeep is from Bethpage and is working overtime to make Baird better - The greens are very good, the fairways so-so. Tee boxes need work. I believe that 2005 should be a break out year! keept up the good work.
