Waverly Oaks Golf Club - The Championship Course444 Long Pond Rd Plymouth, MA 02360 Phone: (508)224-6016Fax: (508)224-8870
Elevated tees and spectacular views of Plymouth Harbor make this a unique course to New England. The course was cut through a dense forest of oak trees. Wind plays a constant factor on the course. A full array of clubs is mandatory throughout. From the elevated tees, the landing areas appear generous. The fairways are undulating and the greens roll true. The signature hole is #8, a 207-yard, par 3, which plays downhill into a prevailing wind. A three-quarter wrap-around bunker forces a player to hit a fade shot from left to right. If not accomplished, the ball will come to rest in the bunker fifteen feet below the green.

Challenging but fair test of golf, Jun 03, 2007

| Great layout, excellent conditions, fast greens. The landing areas off the tee are generous, but the approach shots into greens are challenging. There isn't a bad hole on the course -- for some, 18 is a little disappointing as a finishing hole (short par 4) especially coming off the heels of the demanding par 3 17th, but does make for a fun finish if a match is on the line. The staff do a great job of making you feel welcome. I give Waverly Oaks a decided edge over Blackstone National, and a slight edge over Red Tail (I have not yet compared it to the other Plymouth courses). |

| Waverly Oaks is challenging, fair and fun. Rewards good shots and penalizes poor ones. As one who has played private and upscale public courses all around the U.S., I rate WO as among the 50 best (which includes Ocean Course, Pebble, Pinehurst 2, Grand Cypress, Winged Foot, Troon North, Marion, etc.) |
