This difficult course has bunkers on every hole. There are water hazards that come into play six times. The greens are sloped and well manicured, and the fairways are tree lined.

Fall Golf Sucks, Nov 11, 2010
reviewer: Steve from Lewiston, Maine
Went to Fairlawn in Poland Maine today, November 11, 2010. Paid twenty bucks for nine holes with riding cart. Asked the gentleman if I could pay for another nine and his reply was, "with the cart, sure. How much did you pay initially?" I replied twenty bucks and he says, "ok that will be twenty dollars." I said no thanks. Can play the four star Foxridge (8 miles away) for 34 bucks for 18 holes and cart. What does he think this is. All done.

Unfriendly course, Oct 06, 2009
reviewer: Roger from Poland, ME USA
Would not allow us to take a golf cart out at 3:50 pm even though they previously advertised it was allowed until 4:00pm. Didn't care that they lost a customer entirely. Very arrogant older woman running the desk. Not ever going back.

Sky Caddie, Jun 02, 2007
reviewer: Bob from St. Augustine, Florida
This is a good course and a good value. Having it mapped for Sky Caddie (GPS) use would be a big plus since surrounding courses( Fox Ridge,Spring Meadow, and Turner Highland) are already set up for SkyCaddie.

Great Time, Great Golf, Sep 20, 2005
reviewer: Dana Bureau from Hudson, Ma
Great place for naked golf. Luckily I play with a short club so the mosquotos had no place to land. Pencils have erasers and the local rules provide preferred lies from the rough. Don't forget to bring your foot wedge. Pencils even have erasers. Hosting the Cutter Cup 2005 in October.

Well maintained, Sep 07, 2005
reviewer: Bill from Naples, ME
Great place for golf events of all skill levels. No tee times required. 18 well maintained holes, with some difficult, #2, #4 while others are very reasonable, #11 and #18. Greens and fairways are very forgiving while a few holes offer a LINK style approach and you need to know your club distance, #5, #6. A++++ for value.

The Way Golf Should Be..., Jul 15, 2004
reviewer: Dewey from NH
Fairlawn is what it is: An solid golf course for a great price. I go up once a year to play all day for one low price. The course has always been in great shape. It is wide open, but offers some nice challenges as well. This is the perfect place to enjoy a day in Maine and have an outing with players of all abilities.

Great Value, Secluded Atmosphere, Jun 09, 2004
reviewer: Tim V from Windham, ME USA
This course is just far enough off of the beaten path to avoid many summer tourists, and 18 holes will only cost you $20 if you walk it. The fairways are wide and forgiving (if you slice one, you will probably be able to find it here, which isn't true of most Maine courses). Variety is also a big plus on this course. The variance from elevated greens, to down hill shots, to long holes, to par 3's is mixed up just enough to keep the tempo fresh and not monotonous. Some holes will boost your confidence for the other holes that take some of it away.
