This facility has an eighteen hole regulation course and a nine hole regulation course. Both courses were built on rolling terrain and are located at the south end of Flathead Lake. Flathead Lake comes into play on one hole on the eighteen hole course and three holes on the Olde Course. Four additional ponds come into play on seven of the remaining holes. The large, undulating greens are usually in good shape and have above average speed. The nine hole course also has tree-lined fairways. "Golf Digest" rated The Eighteen Hole Course as the 9th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996.

The "New" 18, Jul 05, 2004

My wife and I played the new 18 at Polson. We found it challenging in terms of length, but relatively easy and forgiving off the tee compared to our home course. The holes are (mostly) very straightforward. What you see is what you get. It is not a high risk/reward, decision critical type of course. The condition of the course was very good. Some of the greens have significant breaks but roll true.

"Great Secret"
Who would think that such a great course would be in Whidbey. The course has some challeging holes as well as some scenery. For some of you big hitters it has a couple of holes that tempt you to go for it. I wouldn't if I were you. Looks can be deciving. If they don't get you the slope on the 18th green will. Stick it close. A great secret.

Redstone Golf Course - Hillside/Meadowview Course
"The Arsenal Courses"
Hillside and Meadowview are generally better than Whispering Pines. Each nine has its own character. Hillside was renovated in 2001. For the low price the courses are pretty good. The fairways are pretty wide, some, but not a lot of trouble, although there are a few very challenging holes on each nine. The ninth on Hillside used to be a par four, so its fun for us duffers to play a par five that we can reach in two evry once in a while. The ninth on Meadowview requires a good drive over water, # 7 is a 192 par three with a green that is not very deep but very wide.The course is kept in pretty good condition yearround. Not much water or sand.
