great fun in small package, Aug 20, 2005

This course is a blast to play even though it's right around 5800 yards from the back tees. Water and other hazards are well placed and the greens are always in fantastic shape. Highly recommended.

Hi all...it's me again! Took a drive up to Port Washington to check this course out while vacationing.. Took me just over 3 hrs. to play it as it was wide open, and I had no one to overcome. The Squires does have an inticing view of Lake Michigan and in full bloom, I am sure it looks even tougher than it is...I will go back again to see what the summer has to offer but feel the only drawback was that the kitchen was closed; so I had to hit the course @ 9 AM w/ soda vs. coffee ..but at that time of the day, it's almost crucial to face unfamiliar territory with a fresh cup of "joe".

St. Clair Shores Country Club
"Great Shape - Slow Play"
I've been playing St. Clair Shores Country Club since 1983. Over the years the quality of the course, ie: fairways, greens and overall layout of the course had improved greatly. It's a fine course to play for all levels. The better golfer may find it a bit short. Most par 4's are in the low to mid 300's. The course is mainly flat, but offers many different obsticles. Plenty of sand makes up for the flat layout. Water also poses problems on several holes. Hole #14, a mid range par three, requires a full carry over water. The main problem with St. Clair Shores Country Club is the SLOW PLAY. The course rangers, while very nice, do not do their job properly. In fact, over the past 20 years, they've gotten progresively worse. So don't expect any help if your stuck behind a group that take's more time than normal. Remeber, it's not a race. At least that's what I tell myself each time I go out to St. Clair Shores Country Club. Needless to say, it gets a bit frustrating at times. In conclusion, the course is maintained quite well. If you can get out on a weekday morning that would be the best time to enjoy your round. The rates are about mid $40's for 18 holes and a cart.

Country Club at Castle Pines
"Best in Colorado"
This course matches with any in difficulty from the tips. It is awesome to play and has many great golf holes. From th regular men's tee it is a terrific course as well. Fairways can be tight so high handicappers may find the course tougher and not as enjoyable as some. But, hey, with the views (best in the country for a mountain course) everyone will love this track. I have guests from all over the country play this course and rave.

King's Ridge Golf Club
"Hilly experience"
This course is fairly tight with large greens that are exquisite. They roll very well and are extremely undulating....making for putting challenges. Even though the length is about 6200 yds from the back tees, it plays a lot longer than that due to the hills, large greens, and abundant sand.
