| RUDE! They were really snobby. POLICIES SUCK!! Would not allow my cousin from the UK, to walk with us so they wouldn't let us golf. Drove over 40 miles to get there and was turned away. I wouldn't risk my time going that far for a golf course and for them not to let you play for some ridiculous reason.

Monitor/Manager?????, Jul 31, 2009

| I just finished 18 at Wildwood, and while the course itself was in nice shape, I can't say the same for the management. We had to wait three to five minutes on each tee on the front nine - no big deal, and apparently the front nine wasn't being monitored. We decided to stop for a hot dog and beverage after nine to let the foursome in front of us get ahead, which they did. As the group behind us were putting out on 9, we teed off on 10, so we weren't and hadn't been holding them up. By the 12th hole we were told by the monitor to speed up play because we were "holding up play" and there are two holes open in front of you. We were also told that we'd used inappropriate language with the "hostess". "May I have a Budweiser, please?" is apparently inappropriate. The monitor (General Manager, Paul Domelen) continued to harass us even though the group behind us was a full hole behind us. In addition to that, he told them that he was "having issues" with the group in front of them (us) for slow play. They told him that they were't being help up at all. I explained to him how the gap had occurred, and he still insisted that the gap be made up. By his somewhat fallacious reasoning, if we teed off a half hour behind the group in front of us, we'd be expected to make up the disparity in four or five holes. Incredible. The group behind us echoed our thoughts.
The course itself is a nice, well-maintained course. It's quite hilly, and a novice can expect to lose some golf balls. But by the same token, no hole is so difficult that it can't be parred with well placed shots. This is the first really negative experience I've had at the course, and perhaps Mr. Van Domelen was not having a good day. Judging from a previous post, though, I'd say this is probably more like "par for the course." |

| I have been golfing for 3 years. I came across Wildwood last year and have made it there once a month ever since. It drains well challenges the new and intermediate golfer. Beautiful surroundings help with the frustrations of the game. Down side...small driving range, no drivers allowed. This is still my favorite place to golf. |
