The "Gulf Coast Golfer" ranked this course as being one of the hardest courses in the Corpus Christi area. This is a seaside links course that is located alongside Corpus Christi Bay, so the wind can be troublesome. The greens are large and fast, and there are several natural water hazards coming into play on some holes. A difficult finish awaits on hole #18, a 555-yard, par 5, requiring a tee shot over water and onto a narrow fairway protected by a large bunker on the left. The green is tucked back into another water hazard, so lay-up in front if you want to play it safe. Only members are allowed to walk the course.

PGA-caliber course for a bargain price, Apr 22, 2004
reviewer: Roger Steffen from Cedar Rapids, Iowa
I've played a lot of golf courses in my day but this is esily the best in terms of quality of play and price. It has a well thought out layout, with several holes which demand you use a risk/reward approach to club selection. I played the white tees (my first golf since shoulder surgery last fall) and found it to be challenging enough. The blues and blacks provide a challenge to even the low-handicappers. A beautiful course, especially holes 12-16, which provide a spectacular view of the Gulf of Mexico.

Great Bay Side Holes, and Tough, Jan 25, 2004
reviewer: Steve S from Merrimack, NH
Play this in the wind and you'll find your handicap is a little too low. Northshore is a wonderful course with great bay views on the 4 bayside holes. And Don't miss the gator on hole 12, the cormorants on number 3, or all the other birds during the migratory months. In winter the rye overseed makes Northshore one of the best courses in all of South Texas.
