Wonderful site for a tournament, Sep 26, 2005

Bide-A-Wee was the site for a charity tournament benefiting Virginia Baptist Children's Home & Family Services on Sept. 23, 2005. The staff were wonderfully friendly and efficient. The course is simply beautiful and exceptionally well-maintained. Bide-A-Wee has the beauty of a Myrtle Beach course without the tremendous traffic. The course is fairly wide open and level. As a beginning golfer, I found it challenging enough without being daunting. I would love to play this course many times more.

This is another great Hampton Roads golf course and one of my favorites to play. It has some very interesting holes and course contours. It is challenging. It is well maintained and has great greens.

"If you get the chance to play..."
great course requiring the use of all clubs in the bag. most holes are quite challenging,at least for this (15) handicapper. most holes require keeping it in the fairway, or it's trouble. water comes into play on a few holes. blind tee shot on 18 can be a killer. don't pass up the opportunity to play! finally, being from out of town was made easier by the friendly staff.

Chief at Sky Lodge Golf Course, The
"Bring it on!"
The Chief is perhaps the most challenging course I have played in northern Michigan. While it is a toughy, especially from the tips, it brings out a carnal instinct in me to play it again because I know that with my new knowledge I can improve my score. The course was in great shape with its bent tees, greens and fairways nicely manicured. The pro indicated that they just lowered the length of the rough, which made a great improvement. Service was also great in the shop. Leave your driver at home and have some fun.
