The front nine has narrow fairways, tree lined on one side and with heavy rough on the other. The course just recently added the back nine. The back nine is very hilly with several holes cut out of the hillsides. There are some elevated greens with narrow plateaus that offer tiny landing areas. This course's small greens have medium speed. Shot accuracy is essential because water hazards come into play on several holes. This course plays longer than the yardage indicates.

Lake St. Catherine CC is nestled in a valley next to a beautiful mountain stream-fed lake in southwestern Vermont. It doesn't get a lot of traffic so you can take your time and enjoy a leisurely stroll through a highly picturesque course. The fairways are in good shape, with rolling hills. The greens tend to be small but fair with no artificial tricks like excessive undulation to compensate for what many courses lack in good golf architecture. At Lake St. Catherine, there's no need for such gimmickry. Just hit it straight, and the course will reward you with a fair, and fun, score. Highly recommend the place. Plus the greens fees are a real bargain.

Found this course a real enjoyment to play. The greens are fairly fast and challenging. Course was not overly difficult to walk. The layout was good. The back nine (9) has two par 5's back to back that will separate the 'men from the boys'. I played several days in a row and was accepted by the Men's club like a member. Looking forward to playing this course again this summer. Don't let its apperance fool you. This course is not flat..Play good course management.

"Golf Heaven"
This wonderful Tom Fazio design offers a truly great experience. It can only be played with a member. Don't worry about a starting time or slow play, the members are rare. I've been told that if you can find a weed in any fairway, they will give you a membership! ($175,000/player plus dues) Every hole has it's own personality and most (10) involve water. A desert design that requires accuracy off the tee, and a back nine into an old quarry up in the mountains, the course is very challenging, but has incredible views of Indio (All putts break that way.) Chances are that you won't get the opportunity to play this track, but if you do, don't miss it!
