This course is considered very beautiful with its natural surroundings. A creek comes into play five times during the last three holes. Hole #5, a 180-yard, par 3, features a pond positioned to the right of the green, which makes it very intimidating from the tee. A friendly and well organized staff is very knowledgeable about the course and its surroundings. There is an additional set of men's tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round.

A true treasure find hidden off the beaten path. Lush fairways with small but well maintained greens. A true links style course with unforgiving rough. On windy days (when is it not in Kansas) the rough can come into play quickly. The people you meet there will only add to your great experience.

A course perhaps more friendly for the long-ball hitter with more than enough water and some deviously placed sand. Access to the course requires a military affiliation or a friend who can host your play but, well worth the trip. Given its location (on base), play is seldom hampered by a crowded course which also makes it a most hospitable course for the slower player, the short ball hitter or those just learning the game. The placement of water (ponds and streams) makes for an interesting attack plan and invites disaster for the reckless. Improved traps, general landscaping and more attention to tee boxes and greens over the past two seasons has made the course much more enjoyable. The first six holes are a low rolling layout with a lot of trees in play along the fairways. The rest of the course is basically flat with several holes playing parallel to the runway and an occasional aircraft take-off or landing adding to the view. Course amenities are well maintained. Walk, pull a cart or ride in a relatively new electric cart. The golf carts are in great shape and an adjacent driving range is a plus for tuning up before hitting off of the first tee. The clubhouse has a small grill for lunch with a comfortable seating area for a beer after the game. The pro shop is equipped to handle most needs.

Lake Shore Golf Course
"Lakeshore"
This is one of the most fantastic short courses I have played in a long time. The changes made in the past few years have really made the most out of the space the course has to work with. The holes that resemble the ones from the old course are improved, and the brand new holes make the course much more challenging. The staff is spectacular, in particular the head professional. He did an excellent job organizing our outing. We will definitely be back in the future.
