Rob Roy Golf Course

This easy course is great for beginners. The narrow fairways are tree lined, and the greens are large and well manicured. There is a creek that comes into play on five of the nine holes. Dick Nugent redesigned the course in 1985.

it was ok, Oct 15, 2008
reviewer: Kyle from Buffalo Grove , IL
nice little 9 hole course. the price is right. its pretty easy with the par 4s being about 320 yds. Theres alot of seniors out there so be prepared to play 3 hrs for 9 holes. the greens were a little beat up.

Crowded and Tight, May 25, 2008
reviewer: Not Going Back from IL
This course is tight and crowded. Houses and busy streets on either side of the tee makes for rediculously tight fairways. There are no trees/bushes to prevent your ball from hitting a house or car. We were backed up on every hole, waiting for the front foursome all the while getting hit up on from the group in back. The play is too slow to get any rhythm going. Greens were in bad shape and hard as concrete. Needless to say, we won't be going back to this course.

Great Twilight Course, Aug 09, 2007
reviewer: KC from NW burbs
As another reviewer said, there's a lot of seniors on this course, but not usually during twilight. It's a great course to get a quick, cheap, easy 9 in after work. For the price, the course is well maintained and the greens are pretty true

My Day at the Goatpatch, Jul 07, 2006
reviewer: Christopher Spandolini from Des Plaines, IL USA
Rob Roy absolutely was one of the worst golf courses I've been to in my life. Me and my partners had to wait at least 15 minutes at every hole. We started at 1:20 and ended at 4:40. We were constantly waiting and waiting for old seniors and little kids. I would never golf there again in my life.

Fun course for the money, Apr 15, 2004
reviewer: James from Lake Villa, IL
This is a fun course and the greens fees are very reasonable. The course is well maintained and has enough challenges for the intermediate golfer but still not too difficult for the beginner. Many of us from work go there regularly and no matter the experience we enjoy the outing.

When pace of play doesn't count, Apr 14, 2004
reviewer: RT from NW IL
This course is played by more seniors than any I know and the pace of play can be extreeeeemly sloooow. The course however, is usually in very nice shape and demands straightness off the tee. You have at least 6 good opportunities to hit a townhouse or single family home if you spray the ball too far off the fairways. Most holes are not terribly long, but the par 5 ninth is a good finishing hole. Your second shot is key because if you push it too far left a large tree blocks your approach to the green.

Good greens, Jan 28, 2004
reviewer: matt from Schaumburg, IL USA
The corse isn't extreamly long, but can pose a challenge from the back tees, especially for the mid-long hitters. It is well manicured, and the greens have a smooth, consistant roll.
