This military course is best know for its medium-sized greens and the standard cut of rough bordering all its fairways. There are many dogleg fairways on the course that demand accurate shot placements. The water hazards that cross some holes provide beauty and fun for all golfers. The signature hole is #12, a 409-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg fairway, then an approach shot over water to a slightly elevated green. Military guest playing privileges are only available with approval. The 6,253-yard men's tee also has a ladies' rating of 72.4 and a slope of 127.

Worth playing, Mar 28, 2007

A challenging course requiring a variety of clubs and shots, including a few blind tee shots. The highlight of playing the course is reading the plaques commemorating one medal of honor soldier per hole - truly inspiring. The course could use some updating and the greens are often adjacent to the next tee box, but the course is overall a good one.

Harding Park Golf Course - Fleming Course
"terrific 9-hole course"
even though Harding got all the attention during the renovation, the Fleming track received the same TLC and it is obvious. Great bargain for someone wanting to shoot 9 holes with top-quality teeboxes, fairways and greens.

"Greens Can Be Fast Without Being Like Concrete"
Take this course to Scotland where it belongs. Whomever is the greenskeeper here needs a bit of elementary training in the concept of WATER. Greens can be fast without being unreceptive to a golfball. It is rediculous when a topped 4-iron produces a better result than a high, spinning wedge. It is a well-designed course, but you just can't hide the pins behind bunkers when the golfer has no chance of holding the green. It is just plain goofy golf. To watch fairly accomplished players putt from 20 yards off the green is just too bad.
