This links-style course is semi-hilly and mostly wide open. Water hazards (fourteen ponds) come into play on ten holes. The course is loaded with sand and grass bunkers. Most of the greens are double-tiered, undulating, and some of them are elevated. There is an extremely large double green shared by holes #1 and #16. The signature hole is #9, a 540-yard, par 5, requiring an approach shot to a well-bunkered, peninsula green. Carts are mandatory before 4 PM. The PGA New York State Open Tournament is played here annually. This club has two twilight rates, both including a cart. The first rate starts at 2 PM, and the other starts at 4 PM.

|This course is wonderfull and is managed by trained professionals who know how to maintain a championship course. From the time you pull up to the facility you are greeted with the time honored professionals waiting to serve your desire for the game. The greens are awsome, this is one of the best places yet discovered by many in the capital area. The Pro Shop has the exceptional trained staff you would expect from a championship facility. If you want lessons, Hiland has the best professional staff by far in the area as well. NO BULL, THE BEST!!!!|
