Nice layout that needs improvement, Jun 29, 2009
reviewer: Cooper from Raleigh, NC
This course is very popular because of its convenient North Raleigh location. This causes a major problem with slow play that leads to 5 1/2 hour rounds of golf, and also takes its toll on course conditions. They also have no irrigation system so in summer the fairways and greens burn out. On June 25 the greens were turning brown and the fairways were looking bare with exposed rock and clay. The sand traps are never raked and they are full of rocks and stones, so watch out for injuries and damage to your clubs from hitting rocks. If you hit into rough you may end up in one of the many piles of decaying branched and leaves. This course is a nice layout in need of major care. The staff are typical retail workers, so don't expect a lot of service or care from them. The practice areas are in poor shape as well. The practice range and putting green are primarily sand covered so warm up using a tee and don't event bother with their putting green, it is so bad. The rangers don;t do anything to speed up play and we waited on every tee box. It is a shame that this place is not better run, since it could e a real nice opportunity to play close to Raleigh, but as it is I suggest taking a short drive to some of the other courses that are better maintained.

Pretty good, but expensive, Jul 15, 2004
reviewer: AG from Raleigh
Played this for the first time recently. Layout is fun with a few demanding holes. First tee is adjacent to driving range so finding your tee shot can be a challenge. Decent facilities otherwise.
