Update on negative conditions, Apr 26, 2007

While in 2004 conditions might have been a little "rough," Lakeview has made great strides to improve their course. The greens are definitely not an issue any longer. This is a "friendly" course. Players of all levels and age can enjoy this golf course. This is an established course that has large trees and a thick growth of grass that can be difficult to find on some of the newer golf courses. I will definitely go back to Lakeview.

Is it disease or just conserving on water, but the greens aren't green. Yellow dead grass and dirt consisted of the majority of the green when I played a few weeks ago. And yet with the greens this bad, they still charged prices found on better courses that were maintained. Lesson learned. Next, if there is a next time, I'll ask, What are the conditions of the greens first before playing.

Good course that could use some sand traps. Common distance for par 4's between 320-360 yds. Wide fairways, good for medium golfers to challenge their irons.

Giles Country Club
"Nice course for budget"
I think the golf course is in outstanding shape. The grass is green,pretty good for this time of year! The superintendant is a nice guy. His employee is a nice guy. They get the job done! The employees at the clubhouse are hardworkers too. The only backfall I see is, they need more members. Somebody told me they have lossed alot of members. Hopefully they will try to recruit some members this year. If anybody reads this come on over to the country club its an outstanding place to golf,associate, play cards,and have a good time with friends and family. And need to open the ballroom for some events, make a little cash! Everbody is easy to get along with. Giles Country Club does pretty good for the budget they have.

Bring every club in your bag and put your thinking cap on before coming to this course. Best bet is to go out with a member or get a yardage book and stay on track for a 4 hour round. Best quote out on the golf course - "I'll either play over you, around you or through you, you take your pick."

"Best Beginner Course"
This is the best beginner golf course around!Highlights for the beginner is no sand or water, and lights allow play until 2200. Price is $10 or less for 18 holes; you would be hard pressed to find a course to practice your short irons as well as pitching and chipping. You could play everyday for a couple weeks with this low price! The shop has very good prices with no tax.
