This hilly course has large, fast greens. The narrow, tree-lined fairways are fairly flat, but there is some mounding that can cause uneven lies. Water hazards come into play on eight holes, and several sand bunkers have been positioned around the course. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 5th "Best in State" course for 1995-96.

Fun and tricky, May 12, 2004

| Arrowhead is not the longest course in the world, but with the ongoing addition of trees on both sides of nearly every fairway. It has become a very good challange off the tee, add in the subtle slopes and mounds from tee to green, as well as numerous elevated greens, making your approach shots anything but simple. If you do manage to knock it tight, I found the greens fast, smooth and very well kept, with your chances of having a dead straight put pretty slim. Finally, if you should find yourself above many of the holes, you had better hope you brought a good putting touch or you could rack up a fair number of 3 putts. |
