This difficult course has water hazards coming into play on fifteen holes, and a large variety of sand bunkers spread throughout its design. Hole #12, a 198-yard, par 3, requires a tee shot from an elevated box to the medium-sized green, which is protected by sand bunkers on either front side. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 2nd "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 3rd in 1997-98. In addition, "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 56th best under the category of "America's Top 75 Affordable Courses" in their 1996 list of "America's Best Golf Courses Everyone Can Play."

This is a great course. At one time rated top 50 public courses in the nation this course offers a variety of shots and conditions. If you would like to have a good golf experiance in South Dakota this is where to go.

This is an extremely well kept course. The course requires a wide variety of shots. If you are not on top of your game from the blue tees you will be in for a long day. The greens are very fast and hard to read. When you move up to the white or gold tees the course becomes very playable for the higher handicap player.

Gaines County Golf Course
"west texas' best course"
A challenge for beginners, yet not so that you cant shoot par. Hole5 is the #1 handicap on the course, a challenging par 4 that will require a 260+ yard drive down the fairway then you might use anwhere from a 5 wood down to a 4 iron and get it on the green and putt for birdie, that would be the best why to play it my opinion. If you play here the greens are fast and the rough is medium, there alot of trees onthe front 9 but nothing a intermidate to a master golfer couldnt handle. So if your an ameture this the best course to play in west texas.

Perry Golf & Country Club
"Best kept secret in central Iowa"
With rolling hills and mature trees, Perry G&CC is an aesthetically pleasing, yet challenging course. A beautiful pond surrounded by wildflowers is in play on the # 2 and 3 holes. Greens are in fine shape and medium fast. Accuracy off the tee is important because of the trees and some uneven lies. Although it is a private club, green fees for non-residents are easily accessible and very affordable. Carts available. The clubhouse staff is friendly and accommodating. Well worth your time and money.
