This course's large, well-manicured greens vary in undulation. A standard cut of rough borders the fairways, and many trees can alter your shots. The terrain is primarily flat and is easy to walk. The course is located one half hour from historic Fredericksburg, and wildlife abounds in the area. The back nine was designed by Sam Parker and opened in May, 1988.

| I've never broken 100 in my life (came close w/ some 101s and 103s), but played here and shot a 90. Wide open, hard to lose your ball. There is more elevation in the greens, which are actually quite tricky, than in the fairways. But I enjoyed it because it didn't punish you. |

Great Beginners Course - 5 Star on a Budget, Jul 19, 2005 |

| Finally - a great beginners course without a $$$ price-tag. Thanks Four Winds! My son and I were able to play for under $25 (together) - show me another course in VA for that cost and I'm there too...but I'll be back to Four Winds every weekend now that I can afford to play golf without breaking my savings account. YES! |

| This course is no Augusta, but hey, if you're a beginning golfer like me, this course is great for practice and cheap greens fees. However, if you're a serious golfer that enjoys scenic holes, then you're out of luck. So again, for beginners and low budget, leisure golfers, Four Winds is your place to go. If your anyone else, you might want to look around some more. |

Decent but not good, Jun 15, 2004 |
| reviewer: David

| THe wildlife was really out when I went to play. THere were rabbits, squirels, and groundhogs within view at all times, not to mention an abundance of bird life. The course is very open and its hard to put the ball out of bounds. This is more the kind of course that people come to walk and drink beers then to have a really competitive golf match. |

| For a beginner like me, this was a great course. I did not shoot a great round, but I made my first par. |

Good, inexpensive golf, Apr 28, 2004 |

| The greens are in good shape, so the rest doesn't matter. It's good, inexpensive, not crowded golf. I quite like it. Has length and has rough, just not forced carries and water. Underrated course. |
