Nestled in the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains, the course is situated just six miles from Red Lodge Mountain Ski Resort. Mature cottonwood and poplar trees were left untouched, enhancing the beauty and challenge of the layout. The design also utilizes the property's numerous ponds and streams that wind through the course and frequently come into play. Although the fairways are forgiving, there is little margin for error due to the thick, hayfield rough, and the short game will definitely be tested by the small, firm greens. The signature hole is #6, a 238-yard, par 3, featuring a 150-foot drop off the tee. This magnificent hole plays to an immaculate island green encircled by a small fringe of rough. The rustic beauty and challenge of this course combine to make it eighteen holes of pure pleasure.

Emerald Lakes Golf Center
"The nicest 9 hole around"
Emerald Lakes is a fun little course that provides the basic golf experiance to the younger golfers in the Elk Grove area. The course has many hazards, including hole 5 which is as good as an island hole as you could get at any 9 hole course. The Course tends to be real hard in the summer and extremely wet during the winter. Give the grass at least 3 or 4 days to soak up water after a hard rain or you'll be chipping out of the mud on most holes. Overall, the course provides just enough amusement to keep the low end golfers happy, while aslo providing a great practice facility including a driving range, chipping green, and putting green. The bottom line, this is the best 9 hole course in the Elk Grove Area.

Indian Springs Golf Club
"Indian Springs - Hidden Jewel"
This course is in a rural setting, with many farms around. Getting to it is a challenge, but once there, some pleasurable hours will be had. The course was well maintained, with good fairways and well manicured greens. There is almost an "upper level" and "lower level" for play and the elevation changes pretty dramatically for middle Illinois. There are plenty of water hazards, woods and places to make shots, so the course may be tough for new players. For shotmakers, it is a great skill test. The signature hole offers a scenic tee, overlooking two water hazards, gazing out into a woods and just barely able to see the dogleg right hole. Anything too far out or left or right goes out of play, and bunkers guard the green on the approach. The clubhouse has the essentials for refreshments, the price is moderate and the staff are friendly. I would recommend this course to anyone for an enjoyable outing and challenge.
