This extremely hilly course has narrow fairways and small greens. Additionally, water hazards come into play on a few holes, including #4, a 184-yard, par 3, which has a pond sitting to the left of the well-bunkered green. Don Herfort (1967) and Joel Goldstrand (1987) have done redesigns on this course. The 5,641-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 74.1 and a slope of 126.

RIPPED-OFF WITH PGA CARD USE!, Jul 19, 2004

The course was very good. Very disappointed when checking in. Teemaster had rates of $37.50 posted. PGA card says cart included. Should have paid $18.75 each. Was charged $31.75 each. Just poor business.

Fox Creek Golf Club
"A Best Buy in StLouis Metropolitan Area"
I will start by saying that while I am only 24 years old, I have been an avid golfer since age 7. I haven't played a huge number of courses in my lifetime, but I know a good course when I play one, and I know a bad course as well. I personally feel that this course plays better than the more well known Sunset Hills CC also in Edwardsville, while not requiring membership/friendship to play. I've played the Bay Point Lagoon Legend in Panama City (known to be one of the 5 toughest courses in the US), and I truly don't think it has much on Fox Creek difficulty wise. The trees alone on Fox Creek truly play havok with any shots that aren't riding the middle of the fairways. Several greens have large trees that block approach shots that aren't setup off the tee correctly. A smart player will leave his driver in the bad on most tees (unless you are confident in your big stick), however, due to the course's length, approach shots end up being taken with mid-to-long irons more than one would like. Couple this with water or OB on nearly every hole and multi-tiered undulating greens and you are looking at one tough course. The best part about this course is the low price. You can play for dirt cheap in my opinion for as fine a course as this one. The only knock in my book is that the course does not wear well through the year, either due to climate or an average greens-crew. So if you want to play a great course for a bottom dollar price, come early in the year (April-May). I promise you won't be disappointed.

"New golf course that is fun to play"
Good condition, straight forward and fun to play. Plays shorter than the yardage and the ball tends to feed towards the fairways. Greens are very nice. It is an enjoyable experience and a pretty place to play. I recommend it to anyone heading to California's Antelope Valley.

Ballwin Golf Course
"Ballwin shouldn't be ignored!"
I play this course regularly on a ladies league. It is consistently in great shape, with very challenging greens. The greens are typically in fantastic shape--better than The Bluffs by far! The pro, Dave is knowledgable and great for lessons for both beginners and those wanting to improve. I believe the only 'problem' is for the men following the ladies on their league days--we're trying to pick up our speed. You'll enjoy the challenges of the water(there is a creek/water on 7 of the 9 holes) and sand traps.
