A good little warm up course for the short game, Feb 07, 2005

If you`ve got 90 minutes to spare, and you want to get a little practice game in, you can`t beat this little course for your short game. Though I play many big courses every month I always enjoy a practice round on this little privately owned course in the middle of Redding,Ca. The beauty is just show up and pay your almost embarrassing small fee and step right out onto the number one tee just as fast. The course also has the only golf club doctor in the city and he can fix your clubs in a moments notice--- visit and enjoy.

Bass Rocks Golf Club
"A Classic golf Course"
Bass Rocks in my opinion is an ideal kind of golf course. Every time you play is different. The winds off the ocean can be a help at times. However, other times it can play havoc with your game. The course forces you to play almost every kind of shot there is. From high flops to knock downs, it will test your game. The staff is second to none. Friendly and always willing to offer a tip or two that will help make your round more enjoyable. The members make you feel right at home. Like they have known you for years, even if you just met. In my personal opinion, every town should have a club like Bass Rocks.

Hyde Park Golf Club
"Wide Open Drive"
Fairly well kept course, the fairways are wide open for the most psrt, so if you lose your new Titlest, its your fault...There are a few water hazards in challengable spots. Bunkers are all easily avoidable. This is actually a challenging course, but one that wont drive you nuts with every stroke. Its also a pretty good course for those who arent, Arnold Palmer. You have to know your game, but it allows for mistakes, without costing you 3 strokes. The trees are beautiful, and the wildlife around the course adds to the experience. Its nice to find a place like this tucked among the city, and tall radio towers, which are right in the middle of the course, between holes nine and ten, which is the primary problem spot for this course. Its priced right, and a good challenge for the money.

Hidden Oaks Golf Course
"Hidden Oaks used to be in bad shape."
Hidden Oaks Golf Course was run down into bad shape for a few years. The course was never kept up in good shape. But now there are new owners that have brought the beauty back into Hidden Oaks Golf Course, within two years. Hidden Oaks it still young, but I do beleive it has changed dramatically.

"The best in Northern California"
Simply the best in worst greens, worst drainage and highest price! Can't be beat! Course maintenance? What the hell is that? It's not need here, cause crabgrass takes care of itself both on and off the greens.
