great public course for high/mod handicappers, Jan 29, 2006

The green's fees are realtively cheap and allow all day play. There is a good variety of holes from a short par three (uphill, bunkered) to a long par five (about 500 yards). Most par fours are of moderate length but a few are complicated by local terrain variations (a broad and deep gully crooses in front of the green on the third hole and complicates it greatly). The staff are very friendly as are the patrons. You will hit all your clubs at this friendly nine hole course and will probably make some friends among the regulars. Recommended.

"course quality"
This golf course is sneaky long, but it is made difficult because the greens won't hold a shot longer than a nine iron, the greens are too small and there is very little space on either side of most of the greens to make a chip shot. This course is much poorer than several public layouts and the membership is both expensive and poorly managed.

Eagle Ridge Golf Club
"Toughest course I've ever played."
I live in Arizona and I've played golf on many courses and Eagle Ridge gave me the most bang for my buck. Challenging holes, beautiful scenery, and reasonable prices. I'd reccommend this course to seasoned golfers, beginners may have trouble with some of the bunkering and forced carries but nobody said golf was fair. Pull out the big stick and let it rip in Gilroy. Don't forget to say hello to Uncle Frank.
