Rough shape but cheap, Aug 30, 2009

| This course is in rough shape but it is a great place for my son to learn to play. It is a hackers course but it is cheap and never crowded. The "clubhouse" is a trailer so there is no food and very limited drinks available. I take my son out early on the weekends and there is never anyone on our backs. This is great because I suck too. The second 9 is now open but it is definitly a work in progress. It has a lot of potential for restoration to it's glory days as an old-school straight-forward golf course. Just be aware that the 8th (or is it the 17th) hole runs along a tree line 50 feet beyond which skeet shooters are dusting clay pigeons. |

Great Place to Learn or Practice, Feb 01, 2009

| I have played here for 25 years. The course is a simple layout with wide fairways and short rough. You won't lose or waste time looking for your wayward shots. Because the course is in poor condition there are days when you can stay and practice pitch, sand or chip shots on most of the greens. The price is reasonable and I and many other golfers prefer a course without all of the useless frills of most other courses. It is NOT a dog track. It is the way golf used to be before a bunch of idiots with earth movers came into vogue. The present owners are in the midst of redesigning many of the holes and in the future this should be a vastly improved layout. So, enjoy what is there while it lasts! |
