This club has an eighteen hole regulation course and a nine hole regulation course. The Red/White Course is the older design. The Blue Course is used mainly by beginners, but both courses were built on rolling hills and feature water hazards coming into play on several holes. Many of the tree-lined fairways are also well bunkered, so shot accuracy is essential.

This is a great low cost facility for beginners and intermediate players. Greens and fairways are fine as long as it hasn't rained. Watch out for stray balls with no verbal warning as the word "fore" is not found in some players' dictionary here. If you are looking for inexpensive golf with mild to intermediate challenges, definitely try Ringgold.

Desert Hills Golf Club
"What a golf course should be."
I have played this private course 5-6 times since 1992 and have enjoyed it every time. Recently I played as a guest in a small tournament and the course was in excellent condition. There are 8 other courses in this retirement community, several owned and managed by large course management groups, but they are not in the same class as this one as far as quality is concerned. There are few if any divots on the greens, all players seem to be very conscious of divot repair on the entire course, including the rough, facilities are clean and fresh, clubhouse is pleasant and modern and the staff is great. I have just joined and am thrilled to death with a life-time membership to look forward to!

Sleepy Hollow Country Club - Eighteen Hole Course

As a Brit abroad, I was lucky enough to receive a couple of invitations to play here. The whole experience was outstanding, from the service at the club to the course itself. The clubhouse is one of the more impressive around (probably only improved upon by my home course in the UK!). The track itself was in excellent condition and, as with other Tillinghast courses, was a good strategic challenge, although not as 'man-sized' as say Winged Foot West and Bethpage Black. More playable for someone of my ability and therefore perhaps as enjoyable.

Liberty Country Club
"Great Condition and Layout"
This course has a beautiful layout and hole construction. Similar to the old "country club" style courses, this smaller operation club gets the job done with what must be a low budget because the course is just in outstanding shape. The bent-grass fairways look good all year round and maintain their grass even in the hot summer afternoons of August. They also had great deals available for play during the week and for people wanting to have an outing. I'm definitely going to play at the Liberty Country Club again.
