This private club was founded in 1894 and was named by "GOLF Magazine" to its 1995 list of the "First 100 Clubs in America." The picturesque course is home to an abundance of wildlife and offers beautiful surroundings. The greens are sloped, elevated, and fast. The fairways vary between hilly and flat, some are wooded, while others are wide open. "Golf Digest" rated this 85th out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1995-96, and as the 2nd "Best in State" course for the years 1995 through 1998. The same publication awarded it 85th among "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1996, and 73rd in the same category for 1997-98. In addition, "GOLFWEEK" placed it 46th among "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1997, 28th for 1998 and 30th for 1999. The 5,890-yard ladies' tee also has a men's course rating of 69.2 and slope 124. The 6,387-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 76.8 and slope 138.

| Its a great course. Tough off the tee but the greens are easy. Subtle break. I've had the unfortunate pleasure to work there. The members are great, but the staff is pathetic. Very unheathly employee moral. |

| Nice course, but overrated in my view by Golf Digest. Par 5's are short and condition is real good, but this one can be beaten up by a good player. |

| I caddy there... and everyday it is great to go and walk the course. On occational mondays i get to work, and it is beautiful |
