Course is probably the best county course; well maintained..back nine can be difficult (and wet) at times..restaurant offers nice sandwiches and beers as well as a beverage cart on the course

Nice County Course, Nov 06, 2009
reviewer: Average Joe from Westwood, NJ
Well kept and challenging. The narrow fairways keep you honest and the greens are suitably groomed. Getting a tee time in this county is a whole other story!!!! No real pro shop, so make sure you have what you need before you arrive.

Short, tight, good short game needed, Jun 22, 2009
reviewer: Jim B from Midland Park NJ
I have played this course many times, and if there is one thing that I have taken away from this course is that you have to be accurate with your irons and short game. The greens are not huge, not small either, but the course is very tight and short, and so far everybody I know that has a below average short game plays terrible here. I personally love the course though, it has some variety, out of all of the Bergen County courses it is one of my favorites. I especially like the back 9 on this course, just a nice 9 to play.

Enjoyable , Jun 18, 2008

Very nicely kept course. Good variety of holes from long par5's that have open fairways to par3's that are birdieable but will punish a bad shot into the bunkers or past the hole. More expensive than other county courses but it's worth it. (especially if you are 21 -- nice clubhouse with drinks)

I am biased, Nov 19, 2007

I always like VBGC because of the variation of its holes. It is short and tight, but I got my first Ace there in 1998 (3rd hole when it was called Pascack Brook) so I have a soft spot for VB. Best on a warm day in June. Try it; you'll like it.

Control course, Aug 27, 2007
reviewer: Bob from Nyack NY
Short straight hitters' course. Don't hit it more than 240 off the tee from the back tees--nothing but trouble beyond that. Then it's just distance control with your 175-yard club to the greens. The greens were not fast, but were contoured--getting that first putt close is the game here. I would come back when it was a little more dried out and try it again.

Shotmakers Paradise, Aug 30, 2006
reviewer: John Bonerbo from New York, NY
Tough & Long, this course is a shotmakers paradise. Every hole is uniquely sculpted from the local terrain and every shot requires precision. A great value- conditions are always supurb. Insiders tip- a quick chat with the starter prior to play will shave strokes off your score. He knows the pin locations like the back of his hand.
